Motorcyclist dead, back-rider hurt in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY — A motorcycle rider died and another one was injured in an accident on Monday along the national road in Buenavista town in Quezon province.

The Quezon police said in a report Tuesday, Nov. 5, that motorcyclist “Melvin,”44, and his back-rider “Raven,”11, tried to overtake a dump truck driven by “Joey” in Barangay Bukal around 6 p.m.

But, the motorcycle slid and threw off Melvin, who was consequently run over by the truck’s left front wheel.

He suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. Raven also suffered injuries from the slide and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The truck driver remained under police custody as the investigation was ongoing.
