MANILA, Philippines — The province of Cavite was placed under a state of calamity due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).
“The entire province of Cavite has been placed under a state of calamity today, October 24, 2024 due to the effects of Typhoon Kristine,” said provincial governor Athena Tolentino in a Facebook post on Thursday.

Parts of Cavite remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 due to Kristine, while the rest is under TCWS No. 1.
Kristine is moving farther away from Philippine landmass as it turned northwest early Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
